In relation to prevention of domestic violence and popularization of the fundamental human rights, GAF's coordinator took part in a discussion organized by the Civic Competences Club "I have rights, I bear responisbilities" which is part of "N. Vaptsarov" Secondary School in Plovdiv.

The young activists and volunteers prepared thorough presentation on the reasons and consequences of domestic violence. The topics they emphasized  were types of domestic violence, the degree of stress caused by violent actions, consequences for children in the family, as well as the ways for seeking protection.

In the discussion followed after the presentation different questions were raised. They stressed on the existing patriarchal norms in society, the differences between "gender" and "sex", the flaws of national legislation.

The young activists were eager to visit the Consultative centre for prevention and protection against domestic violence of the foundation, where they could get acquainted with the direct work with victims of violence and could find out more from the experience of lawyers and psychologists.
